So this very famous and very rich guy, full of smiles and good looks has a private group and I met with them today for the first and last time.

I kept listening and yelling at my phone, BRO REALLY?  that is like 1950's info and who wants to treat people like that anyway?

10 minutes into it, I could taste vomit in my mouth...  

One of the oldest closes and by that I mean sales closes is the warm puppy close.

Here's how it works.  Someone is looking for a dog so you hand them your warm puppy. They are SOLD!

I used to sell cars like that.

I would pull the car thru the car wash, stop by my office and grab a rose bouquet pull up to the couple, jump out and open the doors for them...

I would immediately ask, how would it be for the neighbors to see THIS NEW CAR in your driveway?  They'll think you got a promotion or something,  DOCTOR!  With a grin and a wink.

Then I would drive us by the bank that was all glass... because there was a stop light there and you could see yourself in the bank reflection in Movie Theater size..

I would say, WOW you guys look good in this car.  Why don't you take it home tonight and see how it feels.

Do you see?  I just handed them the warm puppy.  Sold.  No one wants to park that new car in the drive way over night and then replace it again the next day with their beater.

And at time I sold more cars than almost anyone you,   know.  that's how I got a National Sales Trainer Job at Olan Mills, because I went to work for them and again sold more than anyone else in the United States.

You know Olan Mills, well I've probably sold more Olan Mills Pictures,  than anyone else on this Planet.

True.

So when I hear this guy today, wanting me to make you feel your pain so I could show you the way out...

I think.. before I loved Jesus, before I had a wife and before I did a lot of work on myself, I used to get my self worth by being the best sales person in the organization I was selling for...

Car's, vacuum cleaners, men's suits.. then on to telemarketing and then.. OH MY GOSH THE INTERNET WAS INVENTED!!

Right about then.. 1997 I got married to a beautiful Christian girl, accepted Jesus and by the way, those were two of the best things I have ever done...

But because of those two things, I started to heal.   I started to become the man I wanted to be instead of trying to impress everyone enough to like me.

That is why when I first started making more money than Elvis.. I was a JERK.

Anyone with less money than me was a loser.

Then God helped me and suddenly all the money was gone.  For the second time.  At least this time I kept my house and life, the first time was a bit rougher...

but I went from a BMW and living on my own sail boat to sitting on a curb.. enough said about that one...

Ok so now hustling for money AGAIN but something is different this time...

I liked me.  And that made me start to like.. you.

I didn't want to do the things I knew how to do...

The warm puppy close. The doctor make them sick then make them well close. The comparison close. The scarcity,  the reciprocity, the social proof, the side by side, the, the, the.. the THOUSANDS of "CLOSES" I knew how to set up and fulfill in a sales call...

Something had changed,  I only wanted to "SELL" something to someone who would BENEFIT from it.

I love selling, and the money is terrific if you are good at it, and it is a JOY when you are helping people instead of working them over to get a sale out of them.

I could always sell because people trusted me,  I just had to learn to become trustworthy when there was commissions and the prestige of being the TOP DOG...

So why do I tell you all of this?

Because I like you.

I don't even have to know you, I already like you.  And  I want to be a part of good things for you, or I will walk away.

I wanted to say, bro if you would just care about these people, some of them would leave you because they WANT to be bad, they want the excitement and the power over others...

But many of them are good people who just are hurting and need someone to actually care enough about them to tell the truth on how to go from where they are to where YOU ARE.

And it is so much better to help them.

And you won't feel ashamed.  And you will like yourself more.  And others will like you more.

And you will sell more because people will pick up on it.
